FAQ

Questions, answered.

If you have something more specific, drop us a line at hello@banquetlabel.com.

What file types can I upload?

BEOs, event orders, and menus as PDF, photos of a printed menu, or plain pasted text. The reader is forgiving — it handles formatting variation between properties.

Which Avery®-compatible templates are supported?

5388 (5×3, 3 per sheet), 8371 (3.5×2, 10 per sheet), 8387 (4.25×5.5, 4 per sheet), and 95273. We’re adding more based on what catering teams use most.

Do I need a designer to make these?

No. Pick a theme from the library and use the built in designer tools to modify. Once the labels are ready, download and print.

What happens to my PDF menu or event order?

The PDF you upload is discarded right after we read it — only the generated menu text is saved to your account so you can edit and reprint your labels.

Can I edit a menu after I save it?

Yes. Every menu is stored to your account. Open it any time, edit the wording, reprint. Edits auto-save as you go.

How does dietary tag detection work?

BanquetLabel detects dietary tags two ways. It reads any tags written in your source menu — words like vegetarian or codes like (GF), (VG), (DF) — and it suggests additional tags by reading the dish name and description. You stay in control: every dietary tag can be confirmed, edited, or hidden before printing.

How accurate are the dietary tags on my labels?

Tags read directly from your source menu are reproduced as written. Tags inferred from a dish name or description are a helpful starting point, not a substitute for kitchen verification.

Always confirm dietary and allergen information with your culinary team before serving. Recipes vary, ingredients change, and cross-contact in shared kitchens can affect allergens that are not visible on a menu. You are responsible for the accuracy of the labels you print.

BanquetLabel is a labeling tool, to help expedite and improve food label production. We are not a food safety system.

Who is this for?

Catering teams, hotel banquet departments, and private event chefs who want polished buffet signage without spending an hour in Word® the morning of service. Whether your team calls them food labels, chafing dish labels, or just buffet cards — BanquetLabel makes all of them. Whether your team prints banquet labels for a wedding reception or banquet food labels for a corporate lunch, BanquetLabel handles both in the same workflow.

How do I take a label into Canva®?

When you customize your menu, choose the Plain design template and click Download → Canva®-Editable PDF. Then in Canva®:

  1. Open or create a Canva® design at the same label dimensions.
  2. Click Uploads in the left sidebar, then Upload files, and select the PDF you just downloaded.
  3. Drag the uploaded file onto your canvas and resize to fit.
  4. Click any text or shape to edit it directly — swap fonts, change colors, add backgrounds, or layer your own art.
  5. Download from Canva® as PDF for printing on your Avery® sheets.
